Dangerous Truth Against Nominal Believers

For the 9th Sunday in Ordinary Time

"Not everyone who say to me Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven"

There was 10 members of a team building workshop. One was blindfolded and put on an elevated area where the other nine are ready to catch him anytime. The first member below asked the blindfolded member,
"Do you believe that I am ready to catch you when you fall?"
he answered "Yes"
The second one asked the same question and so on and so forth. Until it was the last one who asked "Do you believe that we are all here behind you and we won't let you down?"
The man above answered "Yes" and so they told him "Now jump!"
But the man didn't jump.

The story tells us that believing is not enough. Believing is never a guarantee for something that needs action. We need to act according to what we believe. If you believe that it is wrong to litter anywhere then you should not litter. if you litter, that would be contrary to what you believe. If you believe that God loves you and yet act doubtful of his love then that is contrary to what you believe. So one can say "Lord Lord" and yet not enter the kingdom of God.

" 'Did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name...' 'I never knew you. Depart from me you evil doers!'"

There was a Mom and a baby boy. The mother left the baby boy to somebody who can attend to him while she is away working as an overseas domestic helper. The boy grew up without seeing his mother. Only chocolates and toys. Only clothes and shoes. Only material objects that was sent by her. These are the only things that the boy recognized to be from his mother.

Then one day, it is time for the mother to go home so she could be with her son. The son is already 20 years old.

Arriving at the door of the house, the mother knocked and it was her son who opened the door. The man asked the mother, "Who are you? Who are you looking for? Anything I can do for help?"

"...the winds blew and buffeted the house, and it fell, great was its fall."

There was a wealthy family which was envied because of their glamor and richness. The father and mother worked so hard to provide all financial needs of the family. Suddenly they have forgotten the religious life of the family. They did not took care of their children with values and Christian virtues and they all were stubborn. One day a great famine struck their region and the businesses collapsed. They were left with nothing and so they remembered that they should have, in the first place built their family in a solid ground which is the relationship with God.
